About the Job:
National Motorcoah operator located in Southern California providing contract and charter service to the Los Angeles area is seeking a Director of Operations to directly oversee and coordinate all aspects of the Operations Department including scheduling, operational forecasting and planning/analysis for the best utilization of assets to maximize safety, customer service and efficiency.

Position Summary:
The Director of Operations is responsible for providing leadership and support to the operations team responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating all Dispatch activities necessary to meet the requirements of our client expectations and objectives established by the Company. This position reports directly to the General Manager. This position requires the availability to travel to remote locations within the Los Angeles area.
Essential Functions:

  • Oversees the day to day operations of drivers,  dispatchers and safety related issues to ensure compliance with all governmental regulations
  • Understand and apply DOT regulations to prevent operational issues
  • Understand all scheduling for charters and contracts and make necessary adjustments as needed
  • Be involved with driver discipline with the Safety Manager and General Manager
  • Address all driver complaints and customer concerns
  • Schedule all charters and review each itinerary for DOT compliance
  • Monitor Driver Uniform program
  • Work with managers to facilitate proper training for all drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, supervisors and office staff
  • Work with Safety Manager to promote a safe working environment while following company policies
  • Work directly with Maintenance Manager to ensure vehicles are available for dispatch and needed service/repairs
Required Qualifications:
  • 5 years experience in Operations Management
  • Reliable transportation with ability to travel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Ability to effectively present information in a clear, concise format one-on-one and in small groups  
  • Ability to demonstrate reasoning capability by dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Credentials  preferred:
  • Current CDL Class B with a P endorsement
