 Operations Manager – Kerrville Bus Company, San Antonio Texas
 
Job Summary:
 
The Operations Manager monitors the functions of all employees within the San Antonio Operations Department on a daily basis to ensure that all customers are safe and well taken care of while they are under the direct care of the San Antonio Operations Team.
 
Job Responsibilities:

  •  Interface with both customers and Coach USA staff
  • Confirm each driver is fit and qualified to drive
  • Supervises all dispatchers to confirm each is properly monitoring driver behavior to ensure customer safety and that each is making sound decisions concerning scheduling matters when necessary
  • Monitors the movement of all buses and employees to make sure all are being dispatched out properly and arriving when expected
  • Reviews and adjust assignments to assure vehicle efficiency and operator availability
  • Working with the Maintenance Department to have mechanics, drivers or equipment dispatched properly on road calls
  • Forwards safety items to Maintenance Department
  • Making sure all customer and driver needs / problems while on assignment are being handled properly
  • Receives customer complaints and works with the Sales Department to make sure all complaints are handled in a satisfying manner and that problems do not reoccur
  • Makes sure all drivers are making any corrections needed to logs or any other necessary paperwork, to ensure all DOT rules and regulations are met.
  • Review, correct (if necessary) and approve all driver pay claims before being sent to the Payroll Department
  • Enters Operator/coach assignments into Distinctive program
  • Updates and maintains all changes to the regular route schedules in Distinctive
  • Properly disciplines operational employees
  • Keeping the lines of communication open between the Operations Department and the General Manager
  • Ensure employees are following proper policies and procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining operational budgetary requirements and apply solid business principles
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Ability to lead and work independently as well as in a group environment
  • Applicable computer experience and skills
  • Must have the ability to determine vehicle travel path to ensure safe and timely transportation of passengers
  • Must have the ability to evaluate and determine proper action in situations that may pose a safety risk
  • Must have the ability to comply with current traffic and driver safety regulations as well as all other applicable Federal, State and local regulations and system policies
  • Must have the ability to learn, understand and follow all public transit routes/schedules
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, diversified environment
  • Must have working knowledge of every position under his or her direction
  • CDL and driver experience preferred but not required
 
  • Working Conditions:
    May encounter periods of high stress
  • May occasionally have to work usual off-hours
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
